What is direct primary care?

expand_more

Direct primary care is a healthcare model where patients pay a monthly fee directly to their primary care physician, granting them access to a wide range of medical services without the need for insurance. This approach focuses on building a direct, unhurried relationship between patients and their doctors, often resulting in more personalized and cost-effective care.

Will it be difficult to see my doctor in a timely fashion?

Yes! Your insurance will be billed directly for lab work that is not part of your annual visit and for all screening and diagnostic testing not done in our office. You will also need your insurance for specialist visits, emergency room visits and hospitalizations.

Is the annual fee tax deductible?

expand_more

Some patients use their health savings accounts to pay the annual fee.

How and when can I communicate with my doctor?

expand_more

You may reach the clinic directly during regular office hours via phone, or text via our secure communication portal - Spruce Health, which populates directly into your medical record. This can also be used after hours for emergency care.

How can I schedule appointments?

expand_more

You can call the clinic during regular office hours or text via our secure communication portal - Spruce Health, to schedule an appointment.

What about emergencies?

expand_more

A huge part of my mission is to keep patients out of the emergency room and to avoid unnecessary, often inefficient and duplicative, urgent care centers by providing timely and appropriate care. However, emergencies do happen. INSIGHT patients can receive emergency care at any facility in which they have coverage and I plan to be available for consultation by phone with any emergency care physicians. Emergency room care will be billed directly to your insurance.

If I am hospitalized how will you continue to be involved in my care?

expand_more

I will coordinate closely with the inpatient (hospitalist) team at the hospital where you are admitted, to ensure I have details of the hospitalization and will be able to facilitate a smooth transition home and provide you with timely and appropriate care as an outpatient.

Is INSIGHT an integrative / functional medicine practice?
